General
Fluid Audio's SRI-2 may well become an extremely popular audio interface. It not only offers 192kHz/24-bit audio, but high-quality microphone preamps, phantom power, the option to connect a keyboard and, what's definitely its most special feature, the option to hook up two pairs of studio monitors. Using the A/B button on the control panel, you can effortlessly switch between a pair of studio monitors and a Hi-Fi system, or between two sets of monitors from different makers or of different sizes. A/B'ing is an essential part of mixing, especially because your ears tend to get used to the sonic character of your own system. As such, switching between monitors is a great way to 'reset' your ears. To sweeten the deal, Fluid Audio even include a solid DAW with the SRI-2 so you can get mixing right away.
